Methodist Hospital
한국 헬스 케어 디자인학회와 위아카이에서 주관하는 2016년 미국 헬스케어디자인 컨퍼런스 & 엑스포 및 선진병원 참관단은 지난 11월 17일 미국 텍사스 휴스턴에 위치한 Texas Children's Hospital을 방문하였습니다. Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center는 휴스턴 메소디스트(감리교회) 병원로 Houston Methodist의 주력병원(flagship hospital)입니다.
1919년 Methodist Episcopal Church의 지원과 봉사활동으로 세워졌으며, 현재 다양한 의학 분야의 선구적인 전문가들로 구성되어 미국내 가장 종합적인 교육병원으로 자리매김하고 있습니다.
전체적으로 Main Building, Dunn Tower, Fondern/Brown/Alkek, Smith Tower, Outpatient Center, Neurosensory/ Jones Tower등의 Amenities와 Services를 가지고 있습니다.
휴스턴의 가장 유명한 병원 중 하나인 이곳은 텍사스 메디컬 센터(TMC) 중 MD Anderson 다음으로 많은 건물과 면적을 차지하고 있고, 매년 3천 명의 외국인환자가 찾고 있으며 매년 U.S. News &World Report's best hospitals에 선정되고 있구요. Houston Methodist Emergency Care Centers, the Houston Methodist Imaging Center, the Houston Methodist Breast Care Center 와 the Houston Methodist Outpatient Center등을 운영하고 있습니다.
또한 Houston Methodist는 Academic Medical Center and seven community hospitals로 7개의 병원으로 구성되어 있는데. Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital,Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital ,Houston Methodist West Hospital, Houston Methodist St. John Hospital, Houston Methodist St. Catherine Hospital, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital 이외에 다른 Houston Methodist health care service center들도 포함하고 있습니다.
조지 H.W 부시 전 대통령이 입원하여 치료를 받아 우리에게 알려지기도 하였으며 다양한 분야에서 Best care를 실천하는 Houston Methodist Hospital이었습니다.
